Siemer Milling Company processes soft wheat into a variety of food and feed ingredients: flour for breadings & batters, crackers, baking mixes, cookies, southern-style biscuits, and pretzels; bran for baked product inclusions; and wheat germ. Our heat-treated flours provide a validated low-micro solution for ready-to-eat batters and inclusions, and natural alternatives to chemically-modified starches. We maintain successful long-term relationships with our customers based on reliably consistent product, devoted service, and a commitment to mutual respect and trust. Our mills are located in Teutopolis, IL, Hopkinsville, KY, and West Harrison, IN, all in the lower Ohio River Valley. We employ 190 persons, buy 25 million bushels of wheat each year from local growers, and produce 750,000 tons of wheat products – all of which make significant contributions to the economies of our communities.

Star of the West Milling Company has continued to grow over the years. It has expanded from one mill to five flour mills today, in four different states, and nine country elevators handling corn and soybeans, processing edible beans and providing local farmers with their crop inputs. The daily flour milling capacity now stands at 33,400 cwts, making Star of the West the 11th largest miller in the United States.
