DECATUR, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) announced on March 15 that the company is donating $250,000 to the American Red Cross to help aid those in Japan impacted by the recent earthquake and tsunami. ADM will also match all employee contributions of $25 or more to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund through April 30. The contributions are being made through ADM Cares, the company’s social investment program.

“While the toll of this disaster is only beginning to be understood, the American Red Cross and its humanitarian partners are working together to meet the needs of earthquake and tsunami survivors,” said Jennifer Ballinger, manager, ADM Cares. “ADM and our employees are eager to help the American Red Cross aid those affected by this tragedy.”

ADM’s subsidiaries ADM Far East Ltd. and Toepfer International Japan have 26 employees in Japan and operate a sales office in Tokyo. All ADM employees in Japan and their immediate families are safe at this time.
