Rudi’s Organic Bakery is introducing two new bread varieties launched in partnership with Community Grains.
Boulder, Colorado, U.S.-based Rudi’s said the Hungry Hollow variety is made from hard white spring wheat grown by sixth generation farmer Fritz Durst in Hungry Hollow from Capay, California. The Sacramento Valley variety is made from with hard red winter wheat, also grown by Durst. Both varieties are certified organic under the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Organic Program. Capay is about 35 miles west of Sacramento, California.
According to Hain, Community Grains is “dedicated to improving ingredient sourcing transparency from seed to table through partnerships with regional grain farmers to preserve nutrients and add robust flavors while helping consumers understand where their food comes from.”
