NEW DELHI, INDIA — The Conference on Food Inflation, Food Security and Food Price Outlook is scheduled Dec. 1-2 in the NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi.

The conference will discuss various issues that impact global and Indian food production and consumption, food inflation and strategies to tackle it, food and nutrition security especially for the country’s poor, food grains logistics and more. There will also be a critique of government policies.


One highlight of the event will be a price outlook for a range of food commodities including wheat, sugar, pulses and edible oil. It will cover fundamental and technical approaches to price forecasting.

Keynote presentations will be made by Siraj Hussain, chairman and managing director of Food Corporation of India. Other prominent speakers include Erick Erickson of the U.S. Grains Council, Sanjeev Asthana, Suresh Pal, Suresh Itapu, Anil Choudhary and other food market experts. The conference will be moderated by G. Chandrashekhar.

Agribusiness corporations, food processing companies, commodity exchanges, brokerage houses in physical and futures markets, as well as service providers such as logistics managers and banks are expected to participate.
