DECATUR, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) announced on Dec. 21 that Martin Schoenthaler will join the company as chief information officer on Jan. 1, 2012. He will report to Ray Young, senior vice-president and chief financial officer.
Schoenthaler comes to ADM from ConocoPhillips Corp. where he most recently served as general manager, corporate information technology.
“Marty is a strong addition to our team as we seek to drive meaningful improvements in ADM’s productivity,” said Young. “He has experience leading successful IT transformations in large, global business environments and leveraging resources to consolidate infrastructure and systems for maximum efficiency. His respect for different cultures and his collaborative approach will serve him well here at ADM.”
Prior to working at ConocoPhillips, Schoenthaler served as general manager of information services and of upstream global information services. While at ConocoPhillips, Schoenthaler led the successful integration of the Conoco and Phillips Petroleum systems for the exploration and production businesses, and the integration of assets of Burlington Resources Company into ConocoPhillips. Earlier in his career, he worked for IBM Corp. for 16 years in a variety of roles.
Schoenthaler has a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Arkansas and a bachelor’s of science degree from Missouri Southern State University.
