DECATUR, ILLINOIS — Martin Schoenthaler has been named chief information officer at Archer Daniels Midland Co., effective Jan. 1, 2012. He will report to Ray Young, senior vice-president and chief financial officer. Schoenthaler will join ADM from ConocoPhillips Corp., where he most recently was general manager of corporate information technology. Earlier in his career he worked for IBM Corp. for 16 years.
“Marty is a strong addition to our team as we seek to drive meaningful improvements in ADM’s productivity,” Young said. “He has experience leading successful IT transformations in large, global business environments and leveraging resources to consolidate infrastructure and systems for maximum efficiency. His respect for different cultures and his collaborative approach will serve him well here at ADM.”
Schoenthaler received a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri, U.S., and a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Arkansas.
