The course, Mill Maintenance I, is for mill and associated maintenance employees and supervisors. The course provides instruction in the basics of material properties and handling equipment, including drag and chain conveyors; screw conveyors; bucket elevators; belt conveyors; as well as their selection, installation, and operation relative to maintenance. The evaluation and maintenance of air handling systems including fans, blowers, airlocks, and filters will be covered together with their role in dust explosion prevention/mitigation. Special consideration will be given to roller mill drive conversions, shaft alignment and reconditioning, as well as roll corrugation.
