FAO and EBRD are organizing a conference May 25 on “Securing the future of Baladi bread: How Egyptian public-private partnerships can help deliver tomorrow’s food security.” The conference will bring together more than 60 participants from Egyptian grain suppliers, public authorities, and international organizations to explore ways to improve the efficiency of grain supplies in Egypt through an increased proactive role of the private sector.
Sessions will focus on grain infrastructure investment trends and needs in Egypt, relevant phytosanitary measures in grain imports and grain market transparency in order to improve Egypt’s food security by increasing import efficiency, leveraging private sector know-how and creating an environment for investment growth.
