ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, U.S. — CHS Inc. announced on March 23 the appointment of Tom Lehar to the position of vice-president of the Northland region for CHS Country Operations, effective May 1. In his new role, Lehar will oversee the planning, operations and producer board relationships with CHS Country Operations business units in North Dakota, U.S., and northern Minnesota, U.S.
“We are excited about this new opportunity to use Tom’s leadership more broadly within the Country Operations division as we continually look for ways to help our owners grow and succeed,” said Mike Johnston, senior vice-president, CHS Country Operations. “Under his leadership, annual sales grew from $20 million to over $250 million for our Milton, North Dakota, U.S.-based business unit.”
Serving agriculture for 25 years, Lehar has developed his leadership skills and ag management experience through progressively responsible positions in CHS’ cooperative system, the company said. He started his career with CHS in the management trainee program. Following that, Lehar served as branch manager at Gulchutt, North Dakota, U.S., before being appointed as general manager to the Milton-based business in 1994.
