MAUMEE, OHIO, U.S. — The Andersons, Inc. announced on Sept. 16 that it has made multiple operational updates at the Oakville, Indiana, U.S., grain facility to improve service for customers.
The Oakville facility increased the total storage capacity to 5.6 million bushels with the addition of a new 600,000-bushel steel storage bin. There are two new dump pits that allow more than 2,000 bushels to be unloaded at a time along with two new legs that will efficiently move 25,000 bushels per hour.
“We have made significant updates to our grain facility so that we can improve operations and provide customers with a more efficient process when they deliver their grain while maintaining strong customer service,” said Mike Kiel, vice-president, grain operations.
The other improvements at the Oakville facility include:
• New dryer with the capacity to dry over 10,000 bushels of corn per hour
• Expanded ground pile with a high-speed fill system
• An outbound scale to improve the traffic flow
