CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) announced on April 9 that Mark Schweitzer has been appointed vice-president, Investor Relations, where he will represent the company to the investment community and act as an advocate for shareholder value creation.

Schweitzer previously served as managing director of ADM’s Intermodal and International Container Freight business.

“Mark brings to the role his broad experience across ADM — from logistics to grain to oilseeds — and his strong financial acumen. He’s an excellent communicator and collaborator. He also brings a clear focus on delivering results that matter,” said ADM chief financial officer Ray Young. “At ADM, we’ve done great work improving our returns, and the investment community understands well the progress we’ve made. Now, as we focus on growing economic value, Mark and the IR team will continue to work with ADM colleagues to help investors understand our plans, our progress and our results.”

Schweitzer replaces Christina Hahn, who will be joining a private investment firm. “We appreciate the analyst’s perspective that Christina brought to ADM and wish her well as she returns to Wall Street,” Young said.

Schweitzer was appointed managing director of Intermodal and International Container Freight in 2008. Among other accomplishments in that role, he led a collaboration across ADM, throughout the community and with numerous customers and other third parties to build, grow and promote ADM’s Decatur, Illinois, U.S., intermodal ramp. Previously, he served in various management roles within grain merchandising, North America oilseed processing, North American warehousing, oilseeds and energy risk management. Schweitzer has a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s of business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
