CARTHAGE, MISSOURI, U.S. — In mid-December, Archer Daniels Midland Company’s (ADM) flour mill in Carthage, Missouri, U.S. celebrated more than 10 years without a lost-time injury.
The soft wheat flour mill has the capacity to produce about 850,000 pounds of flour a day.
“The safety of our employees and contractors is a top priority at all of our facilities, and we are extremely proud that we have been able to go more than 3,700 days without a lost-time injury,” said Michael Brown, plant manager of the Carthage mill. “This achievement is a testament to the teamwork and focus of our employees at Carthage, and we look forward to continuing to build on this record even further.”
The mill was originally built in 1900 and has been expanded and upgraded several times since then. ADM purchased the facility in 1984 from Nabisco. ADM currently has 37 full-time employees at the Carthage mill.
