INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — John Griffith, vice-president of CHS North America Grain Marketing, was elected to the board of directors for the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX). As one of seven members of the board, Griffith will help MGEX capitalize on its core strengths for continued growth and awareness.
“I look forward to using my business, talent management, origination and commodities trading skills to help MGEX continue to grow and prosper within changing markets, demographics and environments,” said Griffith.
MGEX is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S., and was formed in 1881 as a regional cash marketplace to promote fair trade and to prevent trade abuses in wheat, oats and corn. It is a membership organization that has served producers, processors and millers for 134 years. It has become the principal market for hard red spring wheat and is known in the industry for its stable and reliable trading environment.
“The success of MGEX was built by establishing a functional delivery system that people trust, which is more important today than ever,” said Griffith. “We must draw upon our solid reputation for accuracy and integrity to build future growth.”
Griffith said he looks forward to increasing participation in MGEX, especially with Canadian customers and institutional investors, by telling the exchange’s story in a compelling, strategic manner.
