BEMA elected new members to its executive committee and board of directors at its 2015 Annual Meeting this year.
Terry Bartsch, vice-president of sales, Shaffer Manufacturing, a Bundy Baking Solution, Urbana, Ohio, U.S., was elected chairman of the board of directors. He began his career in the baking industry in 1981 and has been with Bundy Baking Solutions since 2006. Bartsch has been an active member of BEMA since 1990 and has served on the board of directors for 10 years. He also has served BEMA as the chair of their scholarship and convention and programs committees.
Bartsch played a key role as a member of BEMA’s executive committee in developing the new educational offerings through BEMA-U, additions to BEMA’s meetings such as BEMA-Connect, dedicated pavilions at international trade shows and success at IBIE. He wants to work with BEMA’s board of directors, members, and staff to steward these programs well.
“We have put a number of new initiatives in place in recent years,” Bartsch said. “I want to make sure we invest the time and resources in these programs to ensure their success and growth.”
The membership elected the following executive committee: Terry Bartsch, chairman, (Shaffer Manufacturing); Allen Wright, 1st vice-chairman, (Hansaloy); Don Osborne, (Intralox), 2nd vice-chairman; Paul Lattan (Sosland Publishing), 3rd vice-chairman; and Kurt Miller, immediate past chairman (J&K Ingredients).
Darren Jackson, chief operating officer of The Henry Group, and Jim Warren, vice-president of Exact Mixing, were elected to their first term on BEMA’s board of directors. BEMA’s current directors also include Bruce Campbell, AMF Bakery Systems; Tim Cook, Shick Solutions; Mike Day, Banner-Day; Rick Hoskins IV, Colborne Foodbotics; Mark Hotze, DuPont Nutrition and Health; Jim Kline, The EnSol Group; and Patrice Painchaud, Peerless Food Group.
Mike Cornelis, American Pan, remains BEMA’s representative on the IBIE Committee, and serves as the chairman for IBIE 2016. D.J. LeCrone, LeMatic, remains BEMA’s A.B.A. liaison.
