WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK, U.S. — David G. Kabbes has been promoted to general counsel and managing director of corporate affairs at Bunge Ltd., effective Feb. 1. In his new role, Kabbes will report to Soren Schroder, Bunge’s chief executive officer.
Kabbes comes to the corporate offices of Bunge in White Plains, New York, U.S., from Bunge North America in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S., where most recently he was senior vice-president of corporate and legal affairs. In that role he had oversight of legal, government and industry affairs, communications, foreign trade support and environmental functions.
Before coming to Bunge, Kabbes was executive vice-president, secretary and general counsel at Purina Mills; a corporate attorney at Koch Industries, Inc.; a partner at Schiff Hardin & Waite and an associate at Thompson Coburn.
Kabbes has a bachelor’s degree in business from Quincy University, Quincy, Illinois, U.S., and a law degree from the University of Illinois in 1987.
“Dave’s deep knowledge of Bunge and our industry makes him an ideal choice for this role,” Schroder said. “His experience in our North American operating company as general counsel and in government and industry affairs uniquely qualifies him to make a significant contribution to our corporate senior management team.”
As general counsel, Kabbes succeeds Frank R. Jimenez. In January, Jimenez became vice-president and general counsel at Raytheon in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.
