LONDON, ENGLAND — After a short illness, Sir William Michael Vernon (1926- 2014) died on Jan. 24. Vernon was the former chief executive officer (CEO) of Spillers Milling and nabim president in 1965-66.
He started working for Spillers in 1948 and was chairman and CEO from 1968 to 1980. In addition, he held a number of distinguished offices outside the business.
A memorial service for Vernon will be 2 p.m., April 3, at St Luke’s Church, Sydney, London, England, SW3 6NH.
It has been requested that those who plan to attend notify Nigel Bennett (NigelBennett@nabim.org.uk), secretary of nabim, who will inform Lady Vernon of likely attendance from the industry.
