MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA, U.S. — Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. (CGB) announced on Dec. 8 the construction of a new grain terminal to be located near Tunica, Mississippi, U.S. This new facility is expected to be completed in August 2015, in time for harvest.
"CGB is excited about the construction of this new river terminal. The engineering and design work is completed, and the excavation has begun. Our merchandisers are looking forward to serving producers in this area of the Delta,” said Steve Burbrink, director of business development.
This new, state-of-the-art high capacity facility will operate with four receiving pits, two high capacity shipping legs, a river belt, and a high efficiency grain dryer. In addition, customers will have access to cgbonline.com, a secure site where they can view up-to-date information regarding their grain transactions, contracts, tickets, and settlements at any time.
“We look forward to becoming valued members of Tunica and surrounding communities, while providing the best service to the area’s grain producers and truckers,” said Murray Schwieger, CGB group manager.
