HUDSON, KANSAS, U.S. – Looming 180 feet over farmland in Hudson, Kansas, U.S., is a new wind turbine installed to power operations at Stafford County Flour Mills.
The company said the mill will be the first in North America to use wind power generated electricity produced on-site.
A Gamesa Technology Corp. G58-850 kW turbine will supply electricity directly to the plant in Hudson. Jeff Weltzin, vice-president of sales, said the project is nearing completion.
“We are targeting mid-December for final commission date and to begin operations of power generation for the mill,” he said.
