CALABAR, NIGERIA — The Eastern Premier Feed Mills Company Limited, a subsidiary of Flour Mills of Nigeria, inaugurated on Nov. 3, an ultra-modern integrated feed mill in Calabar, Nigeria, the Nigerian Tribune newspaper reported.
Managing Director Rolf Burchardt said the mill has a capacity of 370,000 tonnes per year. He said the plant would serve farmers in the South-South, South-East and North-Central regions of the country.
Chairman of Flour Mills of Nigeria John Coumantaros said the mill will provide 1,000 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect jobs, the newspaper reported.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Trade and Investment Olusegun Aganga, said 70% of the mill’s raw materials will be sourced locally, according to the newspaper.
