SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Perten Instruments announced on Oct. 6 the appointment of Michael Reimer as general manager for Perten’s Canadian operations. Reimer will be immediately tasked with opening a new office in the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, area.
Reimer brings extensive experience in the food and agricultural business. He worked in both the Oilseed and Pulse Research Labs at the Canadian Grain Commission and spent four years at the Canadian International Grains Institute focusing on Canadian wheat end-use quality. More recently, he served as the executive director of the Manitoba Pulse Growers and then the director of business development at Genome Prairie.
Reimer completed a bachelor’s of science degree in human nutritional sciences, a master’s of science degree, food science at the University of Manitoba, and is currently completing a master’s of business administration.
The majority of Reimer’s past research and experience has focused on the end-use quality characteristics of soft wheat and soybeans.
