CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, U.S. — CME Group announced on July 31 that its Short-Dated New Crop Options volume surpassed 1 million in total, cumulative trading on July 30. Since their launch in June 2012, a total of 1,005,918 combined Short-Dated New Crop Options on CBOT Corn and Soybean futures have traded. These contracts are listed by and subject to the rules of CBOT.
Combined open interest for Short-Dated New Crop Corn and Soybean options is currently more than 178,000 contracts.
Additionally, CME Group recently announced Short-Dated New Crop Options on KC Hard Red Winter (HRW) Wheat futures will be available for trading on Aug. 26, pending Commodity Futures Trading Commission review, and will be listed with and subject to the rules and regulations of the KCBT. This is consistent with the listing of the Short-Dated New Crop Wheat Options on the underlying July 2014 CBOT Wheat futures, which will also be available for trading on Aug. 26.
