WEST PERTH, AUSTRALIA — Vern Dempster was appointed to the position of deputy chairman at the CBH Group board meeting earlier this week, CBH said on April 12.
CBH Group Chairman Neil Wandel congratulated Dempster on his appointment and highlighted the wealth of experience that he will bring to the role.
“Vern has held various positions with the Western Australian Farmers Federation and was a Director of United Farmer’s Co-operative from 2000 to 2003 prior to being elected to the CBH Group Board in 2008,” Wandel said. “He brings a very good understanding of grower issues and a deep commitment to representing Western Australian growers.”
Dempster is a grain and sheep farmer from Northam, located in Western Australia's central wheatbelt. He is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and also a member of the CBH board’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.
The deputy chairman role is opened each year and voted on by the entire CBH board.
Wandel thanked outgoing Deputy Chairman Clancy Michael for his efforts over the past 12 months in the position.
“On behalf of the board I would like to thank and acknowledge Clancy for the outstanding work he has done as my deputy over the past 12 months,” he said.
