WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) announced on Aug. 5 the departure of Shannon Schaffer, director of membership since 2007, and Rebecca Fecitt, director of biotechnology programs since 2008.
Schaffer successfully organized three USGC international marketing conferences and membership meetings and three board of delegates meetings. Beyond his normal responsibilities, Shaffer acted as a liaison for the USGC’s membership, providing a valuable resource for member requests. His last day is Aug. 6.
Previously employed with USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service, Fecitt’s background and knowledge of U.S. and international biotechnology rules and regulations was a true asset to the USGC, the group said. Fecitt helped the council stay up-to-date on biotechnology policy decisions happening around the world in order for the council to respond accordingly. Her last is Aug. 6.
