WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Oct. 17 announced the cancellation or postponement of select USDA statistical reports that were affected by the lapse in federal funding.
Most important, the USDA canceled its October Crop Production and World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates reports that were scheduled for release on Oct. 11. The next scheduled release of these monthly reports is Nov. 8. The USDA’s Crop Progress reports for Oct. 7 and Oct. 15 were canceled.
“While the lapse in federal funding has ended, the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has not been able to engage in the necessary data collection and analysis over the past few weeks,” the USDA said. “NASS is assessing its data collection plans and evaluating the timing of upcoming reports.”
