OMAHA, NEBRASKA, U.S. — Gavilon Grain, LLC announced on Aug. 16 that it will acquire an Arkansas River grain operation from Pine Bluff Port Terminal, Inc. in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, U.S. Upon completion of the sale, Gavilon will purchase soybeans, corn, wheat and rice from area producers this harvest.
"We are looking forward to establishing new relationships and serving central Arkansas producers," said Matt Gibson, senior director of merchandising and operations of Gavilon Grain. "The Pine Bluff barge facility will be our first Arkansas operation in our network of grain facilities across the U.S. and will complement our Catoosa, Oklahoma facility, which is also located on the Arkansas River."
The grain facility is located at 509 Island Harbor Marina Road in Pine Bluff. The current facility superintendent, Kevin Storz, will continue to manage the facility following the sale.
