The board also elected Mary Ann Hynes to the office of senior vice-president, counsel to the chairman and chief compliance officer, effective Oct. 1.
Castellano, 46, joined the company in 1996. Most recently, as Ingredion's vice-president, international law and deputy general counsel, she was responsible for legal rebranding activities as well as the formation of new legal entities abroad.
Castellano graduated from the University of Colorado, summa cum laude, with a bachelor's degree in political science and earned her juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Conference Board Council of Senior International Attorneys and the Corporate Counsel Association. In 2011, Castellano received the Outstanding International Corporate Counsel Award from the International Law Section of the American Bar Association.
