MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — During its annual meeting at Exchange 2012 on March 5, the Grain Elevator and Processing Society announce new directors and officers for the International board and the Associates board.
Elected to terms as 2012-2015 International directors were:
- Marcus Neal, Lansing Trade Group, Kansas City Chapter
- Barb Quandt, West Central, Greater Iowa Chapter
- Robert Taylor, Cargill, Minneapolis Chapter
GEAPS members elected Jim Jundt, Pacific Ethanol Columbia LLC., Inland Empire Chapter as the International 2012-13 second vice-president.
Succeeding to the office of first vice-president is Slav Waplak, Viterra, Canadian Prairies Chapter.
International 2010-11 First Vice-President Bill Lyster, Ag Partners LLC, Greater Iowa Chapter, assumed the office of International 2012-13 president.
Mark Fedje, General Mills Inc, Minneapolis Chapter, International 2011-12 President succeeded to the office of 2012-13 International board chair.
The following Associate members were elected as 2012-2015 Associates board directors:
- Ross Carlson, Chief Agri-Industrial Division, Minneapolis Chapter
- Gary Geist, Kings Valley Industries
- Janice Kantola, Argonics Inc., South Ontario Chapter
- Kent Mellen, NM&M Screening Solutions, Minneapolis Chapter
- Greg Van Sickle, TSGC Inc., North Iowa Chapter
Bob Klare, River Consulting, Gulf South Chapter, was elected secretary and is now on the succession path for the 2014-15 Associates board presidency.
Also at the meeting, 2011-12 Associates Board Secretary Scott Chant, Safe-Grain/Maxi-Tronic Inc, Seaway Chapter, succeeded to the position of 2012-13 Vice-President.
Completing the 2012-2013 roster of Associates board officers is Deb Good, Brock Grain Systems, Cornbelt Chapter, who succeeded from vice-president to the position of 2012-13 Associates president.
The Associates board of directors, elected by Associate members, represents their interests in the evolution and advancement of GEAPS’ strategic plan. The Associates board advises the International board about the interests, needs and priorities of Associate members in supporting the development and implementation of programs and services that best serve GEAPS’ core purpose: providing forums that promote innovation and facilitate the exchange of ideas and information about grain industry operations safety, health, efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The Associates board officers (president, vice-president and secretary) also serve as International board directors. The Associates board bylaws define the board structure.
