LONDON, ENGLAND — A line up of expert speakers will address attendees at the World Biofuels Markets (WBM) conference and exhibition March 13-15, at the Beurs-World Trade Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The event is expected to draw more than 1,500 attendees from 80 countries and will include 275 expert speakers. Co-located with World Biofuels Markets will be the Bio-Based Chemicals and Biopower Generation conferences featuring the leading companies and technologies within these emerging sectors.

As technologies quickly advance and advanced biofuels move towards commercialization, questions surrounding the role of biofuels in the transition to a global “bio-economy”, how such a transition will be funded, and its impacts on global food supplies will be answered by the lineup of 2012 keynote speakers. Featured experts include author of Energy Victory, Dr. Robert Zubrin; Philip New, chief executive officer of BP Biofuels; Farah Karimi, executive director of Oxfam; and Chad Holiday, chairman of Bank of America and former chief executive officer of DuPont.

“As the biofuels industry grows in global importance, there are serious issues it must address and we’ve brought together a diverse set of speakers to help start answering these,” said Claire Poole, event director for WBM.

In addition to the keynote speakers, a host of other high level executives from companies ranging from early-stage biofuels start-ups, to world-leading financial institutions, and global energy companies will address the conference covering key topics such as aviation sustainability, energy crops, finance & investment, biofuels from waste, advanced biofuels, and biogas in transportation. •           Robert Walsh, chief commercial officer, ZeaChem

•           Kaisa Hietala, vice-president of market development, Neste Oil
