Located in a key agricultural production region of southern Illinois, the facility is a 90-car CSXT Express train loader that can serve domestic markets in the southeastern U.S. as well as export markets.
"The facility's strategic location will enable us to efficiently serve the poultry markets as well as Bunge's soybean processing plant in Decatur, Alabama," said Bailey Ragan, vice-president and general manager, Bunge Grain. "We will also be able to provide our producer customers with access to export markets through the Port of Brunswick, Georgia."
The facility has a storage capacity of more than four million bushels and can handle corn, soybeans and wheat.
"We are pleased that five employees are transferring to Bunge-SCF Grain to continue the quality service for our customers," said Tim Power, president of SCF Agri/Fuels LLC. "We also look forward to providing producers with additional services and marketing opportunities."
The McLeansboro facility is the second location to be operated by Bunge-SCF Grain, LLC. The venture is currently building a state-of-the-art river grain terminal in Fairmont City, Illinois. Construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2012.
