MOSCOW, RUSSIA — APK-Inform Agency said on Aug. 2 that during the month of July, Russia shipped over 2 million tonnes of grain as opposed to nearly 1.5 million tonnes in the same period a year ago.

Most of the exports — about 214,000 tonnes — were shipped to Turkey, compared to 184,500 tonnes a year ago, and Egypt with 273,600 tonnes, compared to 653,000 tonnes last year. Also during the reporting period, import companies from Israel and Libya purchased over 113,000 tonnes of grain.


Russia canceled its export embargo on grain July 1.
