For the first nine months of the fiscal year, profits were nearly $12.3 million, which was close to the state-owned flour mill’s record profit of $13.2 million for all of the last fiscal year.
Vance Taylor, president of North Dakota Mill & Elevator, told the state Industrial Commission that flour shipments rose 8% during the quarter to 2.81 million cwts.
The mill sells mostly bakery flour that is used to produce bread, rolls, pizza dough, bagels and other products. It also markets semolina and durum flour, which is used to make pasta.
