KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, US — These are the top 10 US states with the most off-farm grain storage capacity as listed in Sosland Publishing Co.’s 2024 Grain & Milling Annual.
The US had 11.822 billion bushels of off-farm grain storage as of Dec. 1, 2022, up from 11.817 billion bushels the previous year. Storage has grown steadily each year from 8.5 billion bushels in 2003. Crop statistics for each state are from the US Department of Agriculture’s 2022 State Agriculture Overview.
LOWELL, MICHIGAN, US — King Milling Co., Michigan’s largest flour miller, on April 10 celebrated the completion of the latest expansion of its flour milling complex. The $47 million project, which began in 2022 and was completed this winter, involved erecting the mill as well as two slipform concrete wheat storage bins that are attached to it.
