CHS named among World’s Most Ethical Companies

03.12.2025

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, US — CHS, Inc., the largest farmer-owned cooperative and a global agribusiness in the United States, has been named among the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere, an international business development service.

This is the first time CHS has been recognized, and the company is one of just nine honorees in the food, beverage and agriculture category. In 2025, 136 honorees were recognized by Ethisphere, spanning 19 countries and 44 industries, for their commitment to business integrity through ethics, compliance and governance practices.

CHS said its “CHS Code of Conduct” provides employees with “a roadmap for doing the right thing,” and company culture empowers employees to bring their concerns forward if something doesn’t line up with the cooperative’s values or the code of conduct.

“This recognition reinforces our commitment to working with integrity and conducting business in an ethical manner,” said Jay Debertin, president and chief executive officer of CHS. “I am proud of every one of our employees who made this possible by bringing our core value of integrity to life every day through their interactions with our owners, customers and communities.”

CHS serves customers in 65 countries and employs about 10,000 people worldwide, providing crop inputs, market access and risk management services. The CHS agronomy, grains, foods and energy businesses recorded revenues of about $39 billion in fiscal year 2024.

To be considered for the World’s Most Ethical Companies designation, companies must provide more than 240 proof points on practices that support robust ethics and compliance; governance; a culture of ethics; environmental and social impact; and initiatives that support a strong value chain.

The data is analyzed by a panel of experts that vets and evaluates applicants. The assessment process captures best-in-class ethics and compliance practices from organizations across industries and from around the world and recognizes superior performance.
