Founded in 1930, Lamont Grain Growers operates two facilities, in Lamont and Revere, Washington, U.S. The company has 18 producers and 130 members.
Jim Fuhrman, general manager of Lamont Grain Growers, told The Lewiston Tribune that while small, the company has remained profitable and did not need to merge. However, merging with Ritzville is expected to give Lamont Grain Growers better marketing opportunities for its farmers, he said.
Ritzville Warehouse Co. was founded in 1893, making it one of the oldest farmer-owned grain cooperatives in Washington. According to Sosland Publishing Company’s Grain & Milling Annual 2018, Ritzville operates 23 grain storage facilities with total capacity of 20.946 million bushels.
