For the fourth-month period of September-December 2017, Ukraine exported 1.23 million tonnes of soybeans, down 2.6% from the same period in 2016, which was a record at 1.26 million tonnes, the report said.
Soybean exports from Ukraine to European countries during the current season have almost doubled compared to a year ago, it said, noting that 34% of the country’s soybean exports go to Europe.
Soybean production has been on the rise in Ukraine, having jumped from 2.77 million tonnes in 2013-14 to 4.2 million tonnes in 2016-17, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
