Ventspils Grain Terminal in Latvia

VENTSPILS, LATVIA — The Ventspils Grain Terminal in Latvia officially opened a new modernized infrastructure on Nov. 3. The new infrastructure includes a two-section warehouse capable of storing 30,000 tonnes of agricultural products, as well as a new building for carrying out loading and unloading operations for transport on both sea and land.

The Ventspils Grain Terminal has been operating in the Freeport of Ventspils for 12 years. With the modernization, the terminal not only has increased capacity, but also will be able to handle and transfer a larger range of agricultural products.

“With the completion of the project, our specialized grain terminal has turned into a versatile transshipment terminal that can be used for transferring any type of agricultural product on both sea and land,” said Vladislavs Šafranskis, chairman of the board of Ventspils Grain Terminal.

The ice-free port of Ventspils is one of the leading deep-water ports of the European Union on the East coast of the Baltic Sea.
