NOVOROSSIYSK, RUSSIA — Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) Group on Nov. 16 said its consolidated cargo turnover for the January-October period of 2016 increased 5.7%, reaching 122.567 million tonnes.
Bulk cargo volumes totaled 10.132 million tonnes. That total included 4.823 million tonnes of grain, which was down 8.5% from 5.269 million tonnes in the same period last year.
Other cargo included 769,000 tonnes of chemicals, 610,000 tonnes of sugar, 2.445 million tonnes of iron ore and ore concentrate, and 1.485 million tonnes of coal.
General cargo volumes for the period increased nearly 8% to 12.650 million tonnes from 11.738 million tonnes in the same period of last year.
Container traffic reached 4.398 million tonnes and 391,000 TEU, an increase of 2.7% and 0.1%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
