EDE, THE NETHERLANDS — De Heus Animal Nutrition, the Netherlands-based feed company, opened its first feed factory in Myanmar. The facility has a capacity of 120,000 tonnes.
For several years, De Heus has been exporting nutritional products from Vietnam to Myanmar. With the facility located outside of Yangon, Myanmar, it allows the company to work directly with the poultry, cattle and pig sectors.
“We are very pleased with our brand new factory,” said Johan van der Ban, general manager of Myanmar. “Our sole objective is to provide farmers with the best quality feed, nutritional and farm management knowledge. We have more than 100 years of experience in developing and producing animal feed products. Therefore, our quality is very high and based on our experience in Myanmar over the last few years, we can proudly say that farmers are pleased with the high quality level we provide as well.”
De Heus was founded in 1911 and its core activity is the development, production and marketing of animal feeds. Its growth in the Netherlands has been partly organic growth and partly through acquisitions, the company said. In addition to the Netherlands, De Heus has operations in more than 50 countries, with operating companies in Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam and Serbia. De Heus also operates in the Chinese market with a strategic alliance with Wellhope Agri-Tech Co Ltd. In addition, De Heus operates in many foreign markets through the export of concentrates, in particular Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The company has more than 4,200 employees around the world. Its head office is located in Ede, the Netherlands.
