Corn feed
The facility is not accepting corn deliveries.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, U.S. — Cargill’s grain facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, U.S., is not accepting corn deliveries due to high rainfall and the potential of flooding from the Cedar river.

“Unfortunately for us, we happen to be on the downhill slope so we will see the river rise incredibly high and very quickly over the next few days,” the company said in a statement on its web site. “Until we learn more about how this will affect out plant, we will not be accepting corn.”

It is forecast that the river will rise above flood stage, 12 feet, on Sept. 25 and continue rising to about 24.1 feet on Sept. 27, the National Weather Service said in a Sept. 23 report.
