Downfields, which was founded in 1979, was acquired by Kotzur in July 2009. The company has grown to employ in excess of 40 employees who design and manufacture its range of materials handling equipment, including bucket elevators, screw conveyors, drag chain conveyors, grain aeration and grain cleaning.
At the time of the purchase in 2009, Andrew Kotzur, managing director of the Kotzur Group, said the businesses would remain separate entities. But now Kotzur said it was appropriate to better recognize Downfields as a member of the Kotzur Group.
“Downfields has been a core part of the Kotzur Group’s end-to-end solutions offering for some time now, and we have been working hard to align the systems and processes of both businesses wherever possible,” he said. “During this time both businesses have been operating under the Kotzur Group umbrella and we have been investing in our culture, people, processes and technology.”
The Kotzur Group supplies equipment to all parts of Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, South East Asia and Africa. Its experience extends to all parts of the grain industry, food processing, mining and industrial sectors. In addition to a range of standard aeration and materials handling equipment, a large proportion of the equipment supplied is custom designed and built to order to meet specific customer requirements.
