KYIV, UKRAINE — Nibulon, Ukraine’s top grain exporter, has signed an agreement with AV Group Consulting to implement the principles of sustainable development into its operations.

The partnership, announced Dec. 30, will begin with an ESG audit, which will identify the main areas for improvement. The results of the audit will serve as the foundation for developing a growth strategy that will include both short-term and long-term goals. In addition, a roadmap for implementation will be developed, outlining clear steps to achieve these goals.

“We aim to build a business focused on future generations and committed to high standards of responsibility,” said Andriy Vadaturskyy, chief executive officer of Nibulon. “Key priorities include the transition to a carbon-neutral economy, the development of a growth strategy based on sustainable development principles and ESG criteria, as well as setting new ambitious goals in this field in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and EU directives.”

The next stage will involve implementing the strategy through policies and procedures, as well as extensive employee training programs. Nibulon said it intends to focus on developing its ability to work in accordance with sustainable development requirements.

The final stage will be the preparation of non-financial reporting in accordance with the international Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) standards. This will enable the company to integrate into the international partnership ecosystem, attract sustainable financing and strengthen its position in the global market.

Nibulon, among the top 20 largest companies in Ukraine, said this strategic course opens new prospects for the company, demonstrating its readiness not only to adapt to current challenges but also to become a driving force for sustainable development in its industry. The company ended 2024 with 3.12 million tonnes of export volumes while making investments to enhance its grain handling network.

“Everything necessary for Nibulon’s sustainable development has already been established,” said Alina Sokolenko, sustainable development expert at AV Group Consulting. “Our role is to properly structure it, define more ambitious targets, and provide the company with the drive to continue its meaningful work for the industry, Ukraine, and future generations.”
