CUNEO, ITALY — CESCO delivered the first materials to the construction site of a new “green” and technological plant for Molino Chiavazza in northern Italy.

“This milestone represents our commitment to delivering high-quality solutions for agricultural innovation,” said Martino Celeghini, chief executive officer of CESCO. “We are proud to contribute to such a transformative project in Italy, where CESCO has recently expanded its local manufacturing capabilities.”

The facility is being constructed on the site of a former aluminum foundry, which is being repurposed for sustainable agricultural use. Construction is occurring in two phases, starting in 2024 with completion in 2025.

The project includes a silo storage section for a mill plant allowing for the storage, unloading, mixing and homogenization of cereals with future plans to expand for the storage of protein flours for feed applications.

Mixed truck and train intake facilities will provide energy savings and reduced emissions through a railway connection. The facility will have 11 corrugated steel sheet round silos with hopper bottoms (12.2 meter diameter) and four outloading silos, providing a total combined storage capacity of 25,000 tonnes.

Silos will be equipped with ventilation systems for air or carbon dioxide ventilation, ensuring the safe and chemical-free storage of cereals — ideal for bio-products.

Advanced conveying equipment will include chain conveyors, bucket elevators, and belt conveyors with a maximum capacity of 400 tph. The project also includes complete steel supporting structures.

“We are delighted to see the project advancing to the execution phase, with foundation works nearly complete and materials ready on-site to commence erection in January,” said Luigi Chiavazza, managing director and owner of Molino Chiavazza.
