MYKOLAIV, UKRAINE — Nibulon is changing the structure of operations for its Ukrainian grain elevators to increase efficiency.

The company’s 22 elevators will be divided into six groups:

  • Mykolayivska is the largest and includes the transshipment terminal, Kolosivsky elevator, Vradiivskyi JSC, Novoodeska and Voznesenska branches
  • Kremenchutska including Kremenchutska, Globynska and Hradizk
  • Poltava including Romodan, Reshetylivska, Skorokhodivska and Maryanivska
  • Cherkassy including Zolotoniska, Pereyaslavska and Vitove
  • Zahidna currently unites Teteriv, Smotrych, and Denihivska and Khmelnyk will join this group later after expansion of containers and installation of a dryer, planned for autumn 2024
  • Zaporizhzhia-Dnipro including Ternivska, Khortytsia and Zelenodolska

Bessarabska will continue to work independently because it is located far from all other groups of elevators and is focused on transshipment of grain, not accumulation and finishing.

The formation of Mykolaivska is at the final stage while the others are in place.

From now on, each group will have one administration, which will include a director, chief accountant and technical staff, including a chief engineer and chief energy engineer. Each will have a service group responsible for planned and capital repairs at branches.

A shift team will be assigned to each group of elevators, which will include grain processing operators and other specialists who will provide assistance to branches during the busiest work periods.

The department plans to automate all elevators with sensors that will record the operating resource of the equipment and automatically transmit this data to a single service center. Dispatchers will work here, who will be responsible for monitoring the operation of the equipment for all elevators.

Nibulon said it expects to increase the efficiency of the elevator operation due to optimization and automation, reduce the cost of services due to the rational use of resources, and increase wages for branch teams by 30% to 40%.
