KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, US — The GEAPS Foundation elected Darren Zink, global product manager for Fill-Rite, its 2023-24 chairman during the group’s annual meeting Nov. 28.
The GEAPS Foundation supports development of new and innovative resources for training grain and oilseed supply chain industry professionals that are complementary to the continuing education programs of the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS).
Zink thanked outgoing Chair Mark Fedje of General Mills for his dedicated service to the organization, adding “as we look back many decades from now, please let it be known that our achievements would not have been possible without Mark’s leadership.”
The foundation also elected David Krejci, past GEAPS and GEAPS Foundation executive, as president. Re-elected to their roles were Robert Taylor of Cargill as secretary, and Tim Sullivan, retired from Landus as treasurer. GEAPS Foundation officers serve one-year terms.
Elected to three-year terms on the board of directors were Carol Jones, Oklahoma State University and CL Jones Consulting, LLC; Jeff Jones, Mid Kansas Cooperative; and Marcus Neal, MN AgSolutions LLC. Also elected to fill a board vacancy was Vince Marze, WL Port-Land Systems Inc.
The newly elected board members board incumbents Mark Avery, Grain Journal; Barb Grove, Central Valley Ag Cooperative; Brandi Miller, Kansas Cooperative Council; Steve Myers, Bunge Milling; and Jeff Roumph, WD Patterson Co.
The GEAPS Foundation executive director is Erica Venancio.
GEAPS is an international professional association of grain handling and processing professionals. The group addresses critical grain handling, storage and processing operations needs by providing networking, professional development programs and access to a global marketplace of industry suppliers.
