JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, US — Mike Cory has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer at CSX Corp.
A seasoned railroad executive with more than 40 years of operations experience, Cory most recently was executive vice president and COO at Canadian National Railway. He has provided transportation consulting services since retiring from CN in 2019.
Cory began his career in 1981 as a laborer in the CN locomotive shops in Winnipeg, Canada. He subsequently rose through the ranks as a superintendent, general superintendent, director of service design, network operations superintendent and general manager of operations for the Michigan sub-region. He also held customer service and marketing positions. Beginning in 2006, he took on a series of senior leadership roles, including vice president of network operations, senior vice president of the Eastern region and senior vice president for the Western region. He was named executive vice president and COO in 2016.

CSX also named Kevin Boone as executive vice president and chief commercial officer. Boone has been with CSX since 2017, most recently as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to CSX he spent 17 years in the investment industry.
