WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — G3 on Aug. 10 celebrated the grand opening of its high-efficiency grain elevator in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The facility already has received its first loads of grain from area producers and loaded its first train.
The new facility has a capacity of 42,000 tonnes and can unload Super-B trucks in less than five minutes and load 150-car trains on its loop track in a matter of hours. The grain elevator is located on the CN Railway.
“We’re excited to show farmers in the Melfort area how we can save them time and money with our state-of-the-art systems and commitment to customer service,” said Don MacDonald, vice president of operations at G3.
Plans for the Melfort elevator were first unveiled in September 2021.
