RYCROFT, ALBERTA, CANADA — Canadian grain company G3 officially opened its new high-efficiency grain elevator in Rycroft, Alberta, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 2.
G3 Rycroft has a capacity of 42,000 tonnes, high-capacity grain receiving that can unload a Super-B truck in less than five minutes and a loop track that can load a 150-car train in a matter of hours, the company said. G3 Rycroft is located on the CN Railway.
FWS Group began construction of G3 Rycroft in late 2021 and completed the project as planned, G3 said.
The grand opening featured community members and VIP guests on site for tours, lunch, speeches and ribbon-cutting at the facility 70 kilometers (43 miles) north of Grande Prairie in west central Alberta.
“We’re excited to be a part of the community and eager to earn the business of farmers in the Rycroft area and beyond with our commitment to great customer service,” said Don MacDonald, vice president of operations for G3, headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
