ST. GALLEN, SWITZERLAND — The Swiss School of Milling St Gallen (SMS) awarded diplomas and certificates to 20 students from 14 countries. This completed their 10-month training to become an executive grain milling technologist.
The SMS is globally one of the most prestigious international training institutions within the field of grain milling technology, offering training o professionals from across the world.
The course included a broad range of theoretical subjects and a strong practice orientation. In his diploma speech, Michael Weber, the principal of the SMS, said that all students were going the extra mile to succeed and to get the desired diploma.
“You are now not only the alumni of the SMS, but you are also now one of the 1,700 ambassadors of the SMS, sharing your knowledge with your colleagues in the mills,” Weber said.
In his speech to confer the Dr. René Bühler award for the best student of the course, Urs Dübendorfer, principal process engineer of milling solutions at Bühler AG Switzerland, said their knowledge and their skills will help to feed millions of people.
Isaac Pastor Acosta from Ecuador received the award, which is given to the top student in the class.
