LOCHEM, NETHERLANDS — European feed manufacturer ForFarmers is selling its ForFarmers Belgium unit to Arvesta, a Belgian agricultural and horticultural company, for 25 million euros ($27.22 million).
Arvesta will acquire the ForFarmers Belgium production location in Izegem in West Flanders, where its 80 employees produce and sell approximately 420,000 tonnes of feed. The factory location in Ingelmunster is also part of the transaction.
Arvesta currently has production facilities for professional feeds in Aalter, Merksem, Kortrijk, Andenne and Hombourg. ForFarmers will continue to produce feed in the Netherlands to ensure a smooth continuation of deliveries to broiler farmers in Belgium as part of the companies’ ongoing cooperation in the broiler sector.
The transaction, which must be approved by the Beligan competition authority, is expected to take place in the second half of 2023. The sale of co-products, the activities in Belgium of the organic feed producer Reudink and the horse feed producer Pavo are not part of this transaction, ForFarmers said.
