WASHINGTON, DC, US — Alejandra Danielson Castillo is returning to the US Grains Council’s (USGC) Washington, DC, US, headquarters as the new director of global programs, effective April 3.
Currently, she is the director for the India office, based in New Delhi. Prior to that, she was regional director for South Asia, based in Singapore for three years. Danielson Castillo started her career with the USGC as manager of global trade in the Council’s DC office.
In her new role, Danielson Castillo will be responsible for providing direction and management of the council’s worldwide marketing plan activities. She will oversee the execution, implementation and post evaluation of all United Export Strategy (UES) activities and projects carried out globally. She also will be responsible for overseeing global programs in Asia and the Western Hemisphere, including program planning, implementation and evaluation, personnel supervision, administration and communications while ensuring operations are in compliance with USDA/FAS regulations.
“We are excited to have Alejandra return to our headquarters office in the role of director of global programs,” said Cary Sifferath, vice president at the USGC. “Her experience of working in our international operations and opening our new office in India will be valuable to her new position. In addition, her experience working in international grain trade logistics will bring valuable knowledge to this leadership role.”
Danielson Castillo received a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in strategic management and organizational leadership, both from St. Catherine University. She steps into this role following the departure of Emily Pogue in early March.
